Northeast Branch - The Seattle Public Library

This library has an excellent children’s section - a larger one than many Seattle Public Libraries. Other than that there isn’t a huge variety - if you’re looking for a specific book you may very well have to put it on hold and wait for it. Likewise, there are lots of places to sit and read in the children’s section, but limited studying space. Good number of computers. Limited parking. People will stop in the alley where the parking stops are and block you in while they’re dumping books in the drop box - can be a little annoying. Personally, this isn’t my favorite library but it gets the job done. Ambience isn’t great, but if you really need to focus it’s just depressing enough to make you get work done.

Toddler story time was held in a room that was at capacity. 20 or more toddlers with their parents/caregivers were turned away. This was ridiculous because the open library space could hold everyone. Parents fight the terrible parking and the difficulties of getting a toddler to a public library, only to be disappointed. This is a public resource for all. Shame on you.

It’s a nice place to read and play chess . I’m always happy to go there

I lived across the street and went here frequently. My husband practically lived here! Very helpful librarians and pretty good selection for a small neighborhood branch.

Not the most inviting place. Most unfriendly library branch I have been to in Seattle...disappointed
