Visited on beautiful Sunday afternoon. The scenery is breathtaking from the top.nNote - no purse or backpack allowed. You need to leave everything in your vehicle. You wouldn’t want to carry anything up with you anyway, 177 stairs do not seem to be a lot but it’s a good exercise. My 11 and 10 year old really enjoyed it as well as Maritime museum.

Awesome experience - we had a guide (Brian) that made the experience more than worth it. Additionally due to the detailed history of the Lighthouse the climb up felt like 5 minutes. I honestly couldn’t tell you how the climb up or down was as we were learning throughout. Would highly recommend!

Good fun, tall and the steps are slippery, however great time for my entire family. Would go back. Place has decent amount of information for you to read and you could spend hours there. Good clean, educational fun.

I’ve visited this area several times. I enjoy going on base. Have your ID ready and don’t wear flip flops to tour the lighthouse, as they are a tripping hazard when climbing the bazillion stairs. Flip flops are not allowed and you will have to go barefoot and your feet will hate you. Loved the view from top of the lighthouse.

Fun place to go if you have access to NAS Pensacola. Climbing the light house had my legs sore for several days; but what a view! Museum has some neat things to see, but not very big. Their gift shop has some excellent items in them. Especially if you like military branded mugs and decor.
