Deerfield Farm

My daughter had been doing summer camps at Deerfield for 6 years. She loves being at the barn and participating in this unique program every year! Campers physical experience includes daily yoga, riding lessons, learning a riding pattern, games, an education about horses, and time spent caring for the well being of “their” horse. Kids come away with a sense of gratitude and an appreciation of what it means to care for something (truly) larger than themselves. Safety, proper etiquette & attire around horses is a number one priority. Riding instructors are top notch and World Champion riders. Teen counselors are dedicated members of the Equestrian Team at Deerfield, (many are also World Champion riders!) and such wonderful mentors! This is such an amazing camp- we are so happy to have found Deerfield!

Katie from the very beginning has made me feel valued and heard as a student. Her skills and knowledge as a horseman can be so obviously seen in the quality, health and happiness of all the Deerfield horses, which in turn makes them the ultimate teachers. Since starting there my skills and understanding of riding have gone way past where I thought possible. I highly recommend Deerfield for those looking to learn what truly effective riding is, on horses who are experts and teachers, from trainers who prioritize your goals and the horses health.

I was a client at Deerfield for 7 years and had a horse in training there for more than 4 of those years. I have nothing but outstanding things to say about the way that Katie Sikes runs her business. Katie is an incredible coach; she puts so much energy into every student she works with and does everything in her power to help them reach their goals in the arena. Katie is also a phenomenal horse trainer and exhibits a rare compassion and love for each horse. Deerfield is my family and my forever home.

I've been with Deerfield for almost three years now and I love it. It is a place for your children to grow, have fun, and become a leader. They have multiple programs based on your child's age and skill level, and each coach knows how to handle children. My daughter recently joined the regional team, and I can tell that she is evolving everyday. Not to mention how much her riding has developed, but she has been a more well rounded kid from working out there for hours on end. I am happy that we kept her with it.
