Well its my birthday today and a friend of mine wanted to take me to lunch, he said any place I wanted to go. Filipp's Cafe in Dabbury Tx I said ,they have good old American food. The people that eat here, are about as down home as one can get. They have great waitresses and good service. Robert and I started out our meal with a ice tea, and a coke and two garden salads. Any one reading my reviews probably think that all I like is seafood, but not so, but today I just couldn't resist, yes you might have guessed it, fried shrimp,catfish, hush puppies, and a loaded baked potato and my friend had fried shrimp, hush puppies and french fries, and I new when i saw all that food , that half was going to go home with me, so come hungry. Of course we know that this all takes place back in the kitchen, and the cooks are the real heroes, and they have a great one here, so we need to give credit, where credit is due. Stuffed shrimp , fried shrimp, and Matagorda oyster (raw). All jumbo sized. Very Good

I was fortunate enough to he introduced to this place by some of the locals in Danbury (some of my best customers ever) and I got the fried shrimp basket with onion rings and hush puppies .nEverything has an unmistakable home made quality to it right down to the tarter sauce.nThe shrimp are huge and completely butterflied , cooked perfectly and slightly sweet! Can't miss with these!

Good food and friendly people. Onion rings are home made. Chicken fried steak was way more than I can eat.
