Holiday Inn Express & Suites Clemson - Univ Area

I am giving 5 stars mainly on the customer service. There were a couple issues and they always worked to resolve them. The staff at the front desk is excellent! Extremely friendly and welcoming. My husband stayed at the hotel for about 5 weeks while he started a new job in a new state and we looked for a house. I stayed about 2 of those weeks with him. The staff always greeted us and made sure we had everything we needed. They remembered our names and would talk to us like friends. I can’t say enough wonderful things about the excellent staff. I am horrible at remembering name but I remember one name. Katrina. She like all the front desk staff we interacted with is very friendly and always going the extra mile to make guests happy. I would stay here again and recommend this hotel to anyone especially if you are traveling need to stay somewhere for an extended stay.

Clean rooms

The rooms were clean, the pool was nice, they let us stay in there as long as we wanted as long as were respectful. The breakfast's weren't to bad... My 4 stars are because our controller for our TV didn't work. Not a huge deal, unless u stay there 3 days like we did and asked 5 different people to fix it every single one said they would. Needless to say we changed the channels by hand for 3 days and that got old fast. Especially when you're paying a small fortune to stay...

Room didn't have remote or hair dryer but gorgeous women at front desk took care of that quickly. Oddly, half of tv channels didn't have volume at all... Again, taken care of the next day while I was gone. They have some things for breakfast but you're not allowed to eat it here... disappointing. Room is nice and quiet and clean... big plus. All in all, average stay with potential for future extra star.

Had some issues with staff from the start, every time I tried to ask the staff what was an issue with the teenage boys who were swimming was, I was dismissed and treated as if im arguing. They told the next worker basically to be careful with us because we were these horrible guests, while the issue was still happening where the boys got in trouble for something but nobody would tell us adults what it was they were in trouble for. Even after calling the front desk and standing up front for 30 minutes to find someone, nobody would tell me what the issue was that was causing the boys to 'be in trouble'nIn the end were able to actually get a staff member who listened and realized we were never mad if they did something wrong we were Never told anything at all. It is not OK to 'yell' at children and never tell the adult why. In the end the boys were having an issue all because the employee said the pool had a rule saying you must he 21 to be left alone. Which most pools do have something along those lines. We checked prior to leaving the teens to swim and there was no age just said children. So when we left them to swim someone would yell and say they were causing trouble. Everything was corrected in the end but it was crazy that it went thru that many employees before anyone even tried to listen.nnIf a child is doing something wrong, tell the adult!!!!!
