Unfortunately we had a very disappointing experience 6/21-6/28. Although they felt they compensated us fairly, I will let you all decide. We arrived and received our keys to our condo in Summer Winds. After driving 8 hours, and a nurse that has worked tirelessly through the current pandemic to find our house was already booked for the week by the owner. We spent about 1 hour in the car trying to find our own fox before driving back to the rental office to be told that they found a sound front condo or we could choose to go home. That really wasn’t a very as we all have taken off that week, and wouldn’t be able to get off again. We ended up paying the money for another sound front location after hours (2 approx.) of being told that the island was full, and that was the only option. We were reimbursed for the condo, but the sound front was only $200 cheaper and had no direct beach access which is not ideal for my Mom with asthma, and memory loss to walk back and forth to the beach. After continuously calling we were able to get in the condo, and they worked out that we would only a 2 night fee of $700 for the sound front but still need to pay for the 5 nights at the original condo. In the end, we got a $500 discount to have to unpack, stay at a sound front condo, to repack and unpack again. We were able to speak to the owner after he came to bring us a bottle of wine, and they brought us a gift basket. So the only day we had to not pack, unpack, or get visited by the owner or the realty company was wed. Please think about all this before renting from them. Just another fact, my sister and brother in law rented from them the following week and found condoms in the bed room, and the house was dirty. It’s your decision?

I’ll keep this short! Very disappointed with our rental this last week through this company. Our family has rented numerous units at The Ocean Club over the past 15 years through other agents. We have never had any such incidents using other agents! The only unit available this time due to an impromptu trip was a unit through this agent. We checked in and were told about an incident with the previous renter involving a comforter in a room with two twin beds that had been resolved. They said they had just finished cleaning. They were letting us know that the comforters would not match because one was so dirty “well we didn’t want to know”. Ok. Not a problem but it should have been a red flag! We went to the unit, unloaded, sprayed every thing down with Lysol, looked around and went out for the evening returning around midnight. Upon settling in later in the wee hours of the morning we found that the comforter that had been replaced because it was so dirty was also dirty on the underneath side. We laid it on the floor and planned on not using it since we had our own linen. Much to our surprise we also found what appeared to be poop on the mattress pad of the other bed in the same room. Which leads me to believe we really didn’t want to know how dirty the other comforter was! We removed it and made the bed with our own linen. We did not report it then because it was 2 am. The next morning we found that the majority of the dishes and the silverware were also dirty and the ceiling fan in the living room looked like it had not been cleaned recently. These issues were not visible so we didn’t notice them when we first arrived. Things appeared relatively clean. We also found trash in some of the dresser drawers. Upon calling to report these findings that morning no one bothered to apologize or offer any assistance or solution other than to ask “why didn’t you call us we could have replaced it?” Right at 2 am! And excuses that the other renter should have done the dishes and picked up trash because they don’t do that as part of their cleaning. Upon checking out it was again discussed with a different individual who made it seem as if I was making it all up. She tried to tell me that the grey comforter was new so it shouldn’t have been dirty. She just couldn’t understand that. Well, the comforter was not grey and it was certainly dirty. Again no apologies or any acknowledgement that they had failed to do their due diligence in cleaning the accommodation. Needless to say we will never rent through this agent again. Very poor cleaning service and certainly unprofessional. I can’t help but wonder what else we missed? And certainly no worries with COVID and all!
