My son was ticketed for expired meter on Sunday afternoon, Aug. 23. Went online to the next day to pay and the $23 ticket was now $33. Really? It went up $10 overnight! That is ridiculous! Good thing he paid before Sept. 2 because then it would have been $53.

Parking was free but it was also a non busy day since the weather was rough. The beach was about 50 yards out from the parking lot. It's a good area and I thought it was a good place to spend the day when the weather is not so rough. I imagine this place is very busy during the nice summer season.

Very simple to use you just need to be patient with the machines cuz they are slow

Discovered by chance the delightful Salter Park public beach access on our way to Fort Macon. A long raised boarded walk zigzagging through dense forest opens up onto a beautiful public beach that was almost totally deserted. Paradise!
