Carroll Hospital

Had to take my husband to the ER on Friday evening and he went through Triage and not long was in a room in the ER. I was able to join him in the room then. The doctor in charge was excellent. She was on top of my husband's issue and was ruling everything out before the final diagnosis. She had contacted his doctor to go over everything and get instructions from him to pass on for my husband's care. The nurses where terrific as well. Very attentive to the medical needs of my husband. Thanks for everything during this stressful time.

If I could give a zero star To Charlie and the one rude chick at the nurses desk i would. To all the other women nurses and PAs there that were with Carmen I gave a five because there were some good people there who cared and had a personality. The nurses were great - the doctor or pa or whatever he was, Charlie from orthopedics told us one thing and did another. Assured My child that she would be asleep during the entire process and will not remember anything which calmed her down. Had me leave the room while my daughter still fully awake and now being told she won’t be asleep, was getting her arm reset slowly, with weights. After he told me to go out and made me go to the lobby so Could not hear the screams as he manually pulled it instead of continuing with weights and pulls, which was quicker apparently - he didn’t bother to tell me what he was doing. The pain was excruciating. He also said she would be asleep during the procedure and they did not put her to sleep. She was confused and hysterical the whole seven hour ordeal for her broken arm. Her experience in this hospital was awful. I thought Carroll County Hospital was improving but apparently they have not come far. Lying to a 10 year old and then straightening her arm with bare hands so she could hear the bone grating on bone is pretty archaic and horrendous. She starts crying every time she thinks of it. Great job Charlie

I was here last week and then again this past weekend. I did not have the greatest experience with my first doctor but many others in the ER went above and beyond to care for me. The first one was a nurse, I believe her name was becky, but I could be wrong due to being in extreme pain during my stay. Not only did She take great care of me, when she wasn’t even my assigned nurse... but I got to witness her taking care of multiple other patients around me like they were her own family members. She was sweet, caring and so comforting for myself and many other people who were in extreme pain, or feeling horrible. The next was a male nurse, I didn’t quite catch his name, but I am pretty sure his last name was Phillips. I was extremely upset being by myself, and unable to have my family or my boyfriend in the ER during a scary time with me. These two nurses were extremely consoling and made a scary time for me much easier. I had a much better experience with my second doctor, Dr. Taylor.

My hospital ER experience after a bout with kidneys stones was excellent. The medical staff was professional, and attentive to my care throughout my time there. I’m thankful to have a this hospital just 15 minutes from my home and would recommend it to anyone.

My son sat in the ER lobby for 4 1/2 hours yesterday. They had no beds in the ER so no one was allowed to sit and advocate for him. He was diagnosed with “just” a kidney stone (the doctor’s actual words to me over the phone). They never gave him any fluids or anything for pain. I understand COVID has made things challenging but there is no excuse for negligent patient care.
