This school was great at the beginning, as in 2015. But it changed when we got that new principal. It's horrible. They literally control when we use that bathroom. Like, I cannot control my bladder. And lunch is the only time we get free time. But now, we can't even get up during lunch. What is that even? I thought this was highschool, not elementary school.
THIS school is one of the worst schools I've ever been too. It's so strict. I can't even get a orange juice in the morning for breakfast. It's hard to socialize with friends or say hi without someone screaming go to class constantly. We have 0 freedom. It feels as if I'm in prison. I go to lunch and I can't even stand up and socialize with my friends because we always have to sit down and not get up(even though it's not enough lunch tables). One thing I can say is the dance program is amazing that's the only class I can go to and feel happy. Teachers are mean (most) and they are constantly worrying about what your wearing or toyr behavior instead of you education. Everyday I wake up and I do not want to go to that school it's so terrible. Transferring schools is a must!!! Students need to speak up!!!!
Honestly this school sucks. I was born in lawrencville never attended school here though, most of my life I lived in Charleston, SC and up until now I was actually content with school, but discovery is TRASHHHH, the majority of the teachers either can’t teach or are rude for absolutely no reason but get mad when you say something back, the admin are petty miserable adults with nothing better to do than to write you up for literally nothing. One of my favorite teachers, one of the only teachers who genuinelyn cared about a students education and was there for any student when they were, got fired for the dumbest reason, heck even the teachers are fake well the majority(if you know what I mean☕ufe0fud83dude0c) building this school was a mistake on GCPS behalf a foolish one at that.
I believe there is potential in this school to be better. I think the students should be able to express themselves because they are taught to stand up for themselves. They are the future. for the staff: you have the future in your hands. Prepare them for the real word! teach each student to be better everyday. don't go there just for a paycheck. Make a difference. Read all the comments and fix the mistakes. All the students are doing is speaking up for themselves. There is so much going on in the school with the students and the staff is oblivious. No parent would want horrible phone calls or voicemails. What about the times they do good? Reward more students! what's the point of working in a school if you are not making a difference in a student's life?
I am transferring from Gwinnett School of Mathematics Science and Technology, and to tell you the truth this school is beautiful! Has a great staff and helpful teachers. Can't wait to go there this month!
