Bethel African Hair Braiding

Horrible. Awful. I asked for finger coil twists, my hair is now messed up! I can't believe my hair looks worse than how it was before I walked in. I can't show up in public AT ALL, I need to retwist this hair professionally by someone who knows what they're doing and doesn't charge $50 for hair that doesn't look like anything I told them to do.

I took my GF here to Bethel's african braiding to get braids as she was referred to this shop by a classmate. This place was terrible in the cleanliness and communication and like the previous reviewer said, this woman is a thief. She pulled the same scam stated previously on us by quoting one price and then once in the chair, with hands working on her hair, she says the price is different. She quoted a time of 2 to 4 hours but it really took 8 hours. How do you go from 4 hours to 8 hours? And that was after starting 1 hour later than the appointed time. She also erroneously told us repeatedly that she accepted credit cards but at the end of the 8 hours of work, that was quoted as 4 hours, she said she only accepts cash! What!? I had to go get cash from the ATM while my GF waited there for me to return.nWe came back not long after paying to complain about the quality of work and how it was not the style requested and she respectfully apologized and initially offered to return $10. I asked to return $20 and she complied. She also offered to try to fix the bad job that was done but we didn't have time for that after being there 9 hours at this point. So we had a better outcome than the previous reviewer in that we were offered fixes and refunded some money but we were not happy with the work done and the time it took.nWe would NOT recommend this shop to anyone for braids.

If I could give no stars I would, I showed a photo of how I wanted my hair...I did not get that. Instead of the photo I got box braids with crooked parts and braids so tight they were pulling my edges out and making my scalp welt up. I paid $103 for these braids and called Bethel the very next day to help me remove the braids and fix the hair style...she told me she’d call back and never did so I took them out and called her again...she said the same thing “I will call back” for 8 days. The people who referred me are long time customers who are embarrassed that they referred her to me and they also stated that they would not be returning.
