While looking around for surplus Flak Vests I came across Hessen Antiques store page. I found the exact vest (for my collection) I was looking for and at a great price, compared to others of the sort. I quickly ordered it with 2nd day shipping to boot. After my order had been placed I got an email stating that the Vest was located in another warehouse from the primary shipping point, and that it would not arrive on schedule. The customer service representative offered a refund, But I choose to bide my time. After about two days I got a call from the same service representative (a very kind and professional person) about my orders shipping. Because of my proximity to the actual Hessen Antique store, It would be quicker to have it shipped by USPS Ground rather than by air. I was very happy to be contacted about this, as it would save time for my order, and was the logical choice of action (I neglected to realize how close I was to the actual store). I was even refunded the 2nd day air shipping cost. I am very happy with the service provided by Hessen Antique, Their representatives are professional and courteous. I now have the store page bookmarked and will be making more orders as time goes on.

I am extremely happy with my order and the quality. I have to be honest that I initially had some hesitation and mixed feelings on ordering through them because of various mixed opinions / reviews about merchandise and change of quality. From what I understand, this company does the best they still can (which is getting more difficult) to obtain the most authentic reproductions of many German era and apparel. There have been some numerous complaints about quality changes over the years by some, however I do not believe this to be the fault of the owners and that they still try to source the highest quality options. Everything I ordered including a cap and some Knight Crosses and the Ribbons were 100% to the details and quality that they appeared in the images. This is something very rare to find especially nowadays. In fact, some previous reproduction items I have owned including the Knight / Iron Crosses have been much lower quality even down to the ribbons from other reproduction companies I've ordered from. These versions had much richer color and were more vibrant than past reproductions I own which I have even paid a higher price for. Everything was packaged very well and securely.nnSometimes I wonder if a lot of the complaints this company received may be due to not reading some of the details on the condition of the products they order. I am planning on ordering again from them very soon. There are very few companies that produce or operate as reputable purveyors of German WW1 / WW2 apparel and accessories even in the reproduction market. There are only several of them in Europe which are reputable, and after doing research I have found that Hessen Antique also obtains a lot from these sources. If you live in the US especially, I think this may be the best company to order from and with the best value.

Placed order online and everything went smoothly , i recieve an email stating because my billing and shipping address do not match they will not send it to shipping address only billing address after quickly charging my card. Deeply disappointed and willl not order from again. This information was not provided to me at checkout.

A really good company that sell's in WW2 militaria for those that have an interest in period collectables, l am myself mostly impressed with the fact they sell those odd item's that most other dealers just do not supply ... Eg... like the toiletry bag's, clothing brush normally used for Woolen uniform's and a great range choice in cigarette case's etc etc.....So if anyone was interested in those odd fascinating items to complete a WW2 impression... l would personally recommend that you have a good time checking out their website, l would even highly recommend giving them a call !, As l have found them to be very happy in indulging in your inquiries and with a very friendly and accommodating staff, is the folk in good old Georgia..... I have also noted that there turn around on order's is a very prompt response, as l have purchased many an excellent example of their good's.... and l know this is so in my case because I am an international customer living halfway around the other side of the globe... Prost !
