LA CATRINA TAPATIA

The service was wonderful, we were served quickly. The food was delicious and everything was so fresh. I was amazed with the salsa and chips they were freshly made not packaged you could tell. The chef took time to come out and greet us. I would recommend them to anyone who’s looking for a good Mexican restaurant .

Saturday Feb. 27, 5:30 PM I decided to try this place , I was on my way home and called to place an order to pick up. Every time I tried to call I got a message that the number dialed could not be reached, I was passing by so I decided to stop and see if they were open. Upon arriving and walking in there were 3 booths occupied and I saw no one working, after standing there for an uncomfortable time a woman came out and ask if I would be dinning in, I ask if there was a number to call for pickup, she showed me the number and it was the same as I had been calling. I told her the number was not working, she said they were busy, and it was off the hook… really? Covid and the state of the restaurant business and your phone is off the hook? I almost walked out but decided to order.nnAnyway, I place an order for two beef enchiladas with rice and beans and an order of chips and salsa, because their phone was off the hook I had to wait, but my order came up quickly. Once home with anticipation for some good Mexican food I see that I got chicken enchiladas, not what I ordered. While they were not what I ordered, the chicken enchiladas were very good, and the rice & beans were also good no frills standard Mexican. Then I opened my brown bag of chips and tried one.. without a doubt these were the worst chips I have ever been served or purchased, they were cardboard brown, very thick, and hard as glass, could not eat them, luckily, I had some chips at home. Salsa is different in every restaurant so what some like others don’t, this was middle of the road for me, thin, not a lot of bulk and a distinct tomato soup taste.nnBecause munching on chips and salsa while waiting for your food is part of the Mexican restaurant experience, I would never go here to eat due to the chips, however the place is so close to my house I may stop and get some chicken enchiladas to take home again, if their phone is on the hook.

Will be coming again without a doubt! The food is scrumptious! The service is fast and they are so friendly. This will definitely be my go to Friday night spot. Try Chef Juan’s tacos and the bacon wrapped shrimp!! Out of this world!!! Salsa......chefs kiss 10/10.

This place is amazing, the food is delicious and the service is fast. They have a special for Taco Tuesday where you get 3 tacos rice and beans for $5.99. Love it.

I was waiting for a good Mexican place, and this is one of the few Mexican restaurants worth going to. I'm from Chicago, so I've had a range of good Mexican and these tacos are comparable. Only thing is, I did take-out, so I don't know if they bring out chips/salsa, which is a must for Mexican.
