This happened late last year and I never said anything before when I should have. I used to live in the community next to this gas station, and I stopped in one day to get gas and a quick snack from inside the store. I was the only car in the whole place. As I went inside I noticed there were two bikes leaned against the outside windows, and there were 2 men who obviously knew each other standing near the counter having a conversation and generally not in a hurry as they were picking out their things. Unfortunately this area has a type of seedy people who loiter about and appear to be homeless or on drugs, and these men seemed to fit the bill for that. By the time I finished getting the items I wanted and went to the counter, the two men were in line ahead of me. Immediately when I walked up to wait I was obviously trying to keep a distance, but both of their attention turned right to me and they started talking to me and complimenting how pretty my hair is, how young I am, how they like women with long hair so they can “yank on it”, if I dated older men, and were asking if I lived around here because they’d never seen me before. I tried to be nice but short with my replies, but what they were saying was making me really uncomfortable and I was also thinking of the fact that once these guys checked out there was nothing stopping them from waiting for me to finish paying, and then going outside when I still had to pump my gas. I was honestly thinking of just putting my things down and leaving before they had the chance to, when the gentleman behind the counter put his hand up to the men and said “Enough” as they continued to badger me, and then he looked at me and said “Come here miss” as he pushed the first mans items to the side and let me pay and leave ahead of these men. I went outside to my car and I don’t know if the gentleman did it intentionally but it wasn’t until I was done pumping my gas and was sitting inside my car about to drive away did those 2 men finally come out of the store, and they both were looking directly at me as I pulled out of the parking lot. I didn’t get the man’s name who was working the counter that day, and I moved away a couple weeks after this happened so I never went back to thank him, but in case he still works there and sees this I just want to say you have no idea how grateful I was for what you did for me that day and you made me feel safe in a situation that could have easily gone bad for me. Maybe those men weren’t going to try to follow me to my car or bother me outside the store, but thankfully I didn’t get to find out what their motivations were that day and I want you to know how thankful I am that you were looking out for me.

Love these guys and this shop. Usually in a few times a week and very personable service.

No shields or masks worn by staff, the place advertises a carwash but does not have one, and they charge 10¢ more a gallon if you pay with debit card.nWon't be back.

This is one of my two favorite gas stations. The guy that works there is super friendly and for a small store, they have lots in it!
