Poorest level of service I’ve ever had at a winery.

ADDENDUM: The prices charged at the winery and on the Col Solare website are $35 to $25 MORE THAN WHAT YOU PAY at a liquor or wine store!!!nnThis review is for the Col Solare Bottega within Chateau Ste. Michelle. The five stars are ostensibly for our server Kate, who was personable and knowledgeable about the Col Solare wines. I was once a wine manager for restaurants, and I can get rather obnoxious testing young people who “think they know about wine.” Kate handled my questions with aplomb and charm.nnCol Solare Bottega is a pretentious name for a glass enclosed space inside Chateau St. Michelle. The winery is very structured and organized, unlike the quintessential Woodinville experience. We had our table for one hour. When our time slot was over, it was time to get out! Unfortunately, we were 25 minutes late after the extensive check in process. Give yourself enough time to walk from the parking lot and get checked in. In our 35 minutes, we gulped down four great wines, purchased a few bottles, paid a lot of money and left.nnIt wasn’t relaxed at all, and we wanted more time to enjoy and savor. Chateau Ste Michelle is gorgeous and well run. It is a wonderful experience for most tourists. We drove out from Seattle and just wanted to taste wine and have some fun. That is not what Chateau Ste Michelle is about. This is serious tourism.

Very disappointed in my visit to this winery. I was visiting from Indiana..this is one of the places I most wanted to visit as they have some of my favorite wines. I understood there would be restrictions due to Covid-19 but for the price charged for our tasting it was a joke. Not only was one of the Staff members at the entrance VERY RUDE the whole experience was the worst I have ever had at a tasting. 4 small tastings in over sized test tubes..a bottle of water and 1 wine glass..I guess there was no rinsing your glass between the tastings just take a drink of water I suppose. You received a paper with descriptions of the pre-selected tasting (you have no choice) and the food choice was ridiculous. We were seated at a table, given our wine tastings and papers, informed there was no tour and that was it! The girl was pleasant but never returned once we were seated. We were there maybe 30 minutes. What a waste of time. We left went to another winery had a nice flight of wines and a great food menu to choose from. I did get a membership from that winery before leaving so the day did end well just not at Chateau Ste Michelle sadly.

Good wine. Fun wine tours. Beautiful grounds. Nothing else like it in the Puget Sound Area.
