We visited Cape Charles for the first time Saturday. I must say, this was a lovely town and most of the shop owners and locals were extremely friendly. This store however, was not. I guess I shouldn't put the blame on the entire store....just the woman that they had placed in the front to bark orders at you (abruptly) to use their hand sanitizer and to wear your mask properly. It was 90° outside. My family and I were pulling our masks up and down when walking in and out of stores so we didn't have to suffocate the entire time. She barked at my husband to sanitize his hands as soon as he walked through the door. While he was doing so, she barked again to pull his mask up over his nose. He told her that she had to give him a minute as he couldn't do both things at once. Extremely rude and off putting. We left without patronizing even though there were several items I would have loved to buy. I 100% understand the need to be cautious during these odd new times. However, I will never understand the need to be rude.

I had just visited this pace not to long ago, it was a neat little store but my only issue was I have a breathing problem and I was going to buy a new mask to try it out and as soon as me and my boyfriend and his other family members walked in and few other people as well, the lady there looked over at us raising her voice to use the hand sanitizer. She did that with every customer that walked in, but the thing that irked me the most was that she saw me 3 times the whole 5 minutes I was in the store (only one with out a mask) and did not say anything until i walked in front of the cash register with a new mask in my hand that i was going to buy and she said that i couldn't be in without one on and i explained that i have a breathing problem and she still said that it was the law not her so i had to leave the store and i put the item away . I was polite with it so i couldn't cause a scene but mind you i was in there for 5 minutes without a mask. But when i was in the other store with the same signs and no mask the lady there was very nice and she understood i couldn't breathe with one on and i was allowed to stay in the store just not The Boardwalk.

What a lovely and unique place in the heart of Cape Charles. Full of interesting one of a kind items. People who work there make you feel right at home. One simply should not miss it while there.

My favorite store in Cape Charles, you can find unique fun items. I have purchased anything from items to decorate my home to wonderful gifts for showers, birthdays and holidays. I always find something new.
