We went to Cape Charles during our kids spring break and the was almost nothing open in the historic district so we were really happy to find this place. There is abundant outdoor seating in a family friendly atmosphere and the food was good. The beer was great. Prices are a bit higher with a fish sandwich a Greek salad, onion rings, and two beers totaling $60. But everything was good and large so it was worth it.

Saw Cape Charles Brewing Co mentioned in a You Tube RV video and on trip back from visiting our son's family in VA Beach my wife and I stopped there for lunch. Great laid back setting, food and beer is ordered and paid for at the front counter, you go to one of the many outside picnic tables to wait for the food while enjoying a brew. The owner who initially took our order was very welcoming and her food suggestions were spot on. We each ordered the clam chowder and the rockfish sandwich to split along with the Belgian ale. Food and beer were fabulous. Couldn't finish everything. But for the impending drive back to NJ could have spent a good bit more time there further enjoying the Belgian ale. Did buy a 4 pack to enjoy back at home. Will likely be an ongoing destination on any future VA Beach visits.

4 adults and 6 kids. If we can have a great time there anyone can. Beer was good, food was even better, and the staff were great. Enjoy going here anytime. If you are in the area and want something to eat and/or drink, make sure to check this out.

Great atmosphere and great service. The seared ahi tuna sandwich was great but MAN did they coat it with black pepper. I’m talking top and bottom, end to end, pepper. So much so that it overpowers the flavor of... well everything else on the sandwich. I like pepper; but we both had to scrape most of it off just to be able to taste the tuna steak on our sandwiches. I’m aware the item has “peppered” in the name, but man, this was overkill.nnHad a couple porters, not really my favorites; but a staff member came by and offered some samples of a new beer they just got. Apparently she wasn’t aware they had run out, so she came back with another which wasn’t too terrible; but, again, not my favorite. I’m sure there are plenty of great beers here, so I’ll have to branch out and try another the next time we’re in this area.

Surprisingly great food – the French fries are especially not to be missed – and cute decor. I just wish they had either a very light beer or seltzer or cider option for those of us who want to hang but either aren’t big beer drinkers or have gluten issues. Still, great spot with awesome service!
