The idea is GREAT and the STAFF is GREATER...Yet, the poor implementation of this idea is very obvious. If you go in and patronize this location on regular basis, you will find out that the ONLY thing is great about this location is the staff. They are simply wonderful and they will go above and beyond the call of duty to make you feel welcomed.nThis place is labeled as a library and they have everyone squeezed in a room that used to be a store. Even thought there was plenty of space next door to open up and expand the idea, but the great minds of CRRL had chosen not to. They have a tinny children section that’s cornered in a small space enough for 4-5 kids. The children section needed to be larger simply because I noticed most families stop by and read few books to their kids while other family members are shopping. Great Idea, however, You can’t have more than 6 individuals in the children section , it will get crowded and people will start running into each other!!!!!!!.nEven though this place is A “LIBRARY”; nonetheless; what goes on in there make you wonder if they should change the sign to Rappahannock Regional Community Center instead !!!!! On more than one occasion; there were individuals eating meals over the computer and wiping their hands on the chair they were sitting on. Moreover, they were individuals arguing with each other aloud , in front of the staff for around 20 mins and no one did anything about it. Additionally, using the phone inside this “library” is a norm even if you stay on it loud for hours; no one will say anything to you about respecting others around you or even control your noise while you’re in this library. My professors keep on lecturing students to pay a visit to the local CRRL and utilize it to write all the researches they have so they can take advantage of the quietness and the serene atmosphere available there !!!!! ...My husband went in to use a computer and it was unusually crowded, he waited for few minutes, then he took over a computer from a gentleman who was using it and there was grease all over the keyboard from FRIED CHICKEN. He was using the computer while he was enjoying the fried chicken and it took my husband around 10 mins just to clean the place. He couldn’t switch to another computer simply because like I mentioned it was crowded and he would have to wait longer. The issue is ; they call it a “library” and no one wants to respect the protocol and the etiquette of libraries. When you walk in thinking you are inside a library, you would expect everyone to behave accordingly, you can’t expect everyone to be dead silent but you expect people to not scream at each other and not to have a meal over the computers. We have brought up the issues to the current management and they simply referred us to policies and rules of the CRRL , for a while we didn’t understand the message when we were referred to the CRRL site, but now we do...Nothing in the rules and policies of CRRL mention anything about eating a meal or talking loud on the phones, yet, they referred us to the site simply to blow us off. I feel the staff are caught in the middle, some even they shared their thoughts with us and they agreed that if you call it a library, everyone should respect the rules and the etiquette of behaving inside a library.nrespect for the rules and
