This review pertains to the Bonnevillle Dam / Visitor Center and the Hatchery. Bonneville Dam and hydroelectric power station is true American experience. Built nearly a century ago, has patina of ageing on the buildings, open surroundings, and Oregonian weather with cloud cover and deep rich green landscape. We took a tour in the afternoon. For a place taming the power of nature, ferocity of water hitting the dam system, and generating electricity the environment was eerily quiet, and the interiors a testament to human ingenuity and engineering. Memorable. The hatchery and outdoor display of fish-life and the statues is a great experience by itself.

Closed for some puzzling reason. This place is awesome when they decide to actually open it to the public, the public who's tax dollars fund this place... super lame. Just using COVID as an excuse to tape it off despite it being a perfect, outside, safe venue to walk around with your family.

Still shows open online, showed up and it was closed. Kids were really disappointed.nnEdit: while the gift shop and visitors center are closed, the grounds are open and the kids enjoyed seeing the fish ponds and Herman!

It was so good seeing the fish swim past the glass and learning about their epic journey
