Freeport Memorial Library Freeport LI, NY

I would normally give a five star because the library was my go to place to get some quiet time to do homework and study. However, today I had a bad encounter due to the new 1 hour limit stay per person. It’s fair to point out that I understand because of the pandemic. My issue is that I was not using any computers. I was using a table and a seat, I had my personal computer. There were barely any people at the library and I was out of everyone way, doing my school work. I am doing remote learning because my college is closed and the only place I have quiet time is at the library. If you want a quiet space to study I would NOT recommend the library right now. Someone came up to me and told me my hour was “up” and I had to leave. I asked if I could stay a few extra minutes to get some work done and I was denied. It’s unfair because there are so many college students who are doing everything online and it’s difficult to find a place where you can do this with no distractions. One hour is NOT ENOUGH.

They really need to give more time to actual students... 1 hour is really not enough at least 2 hours or be flexible....
