My Dad was a member of the Oceanside VFD in the 1950-60s at the old Salamander building on Foxhurst Rd. What fond memories of that place! Memorial Day parades, parties in the back yard, parade and tournament days ... I can still remember the way the building smelled (so clean) and the huge stove and pots in the kitchen, and the pictures of chiefs in the meeting room ....nCan you post some old photos, please??
I just want to say how incredible these guys are. My 3 and 4 year old were on the patio with my wife and I and we saw a Fire Truck pull right in front of us. I very nice Man came out of the truck and gave our boys 2 Fire Hats and Made my Kids vacation. This was our last day in Oceanside and you have no idea what it meant to our kids. So Awesome! Thank you!
