Golden Foundation for the Arts

Open studio tours about once a month. Most artists in residence work in acrylic or mixed media. Most have a style somewhere withi contemporary abstraction. Most abstract art leaves me unsatisfied, like having half a meal - what's there is good, but something is missing. But there is no question these artists can use shape and color and texture in striking and distinctive ways.nnArtists are selected from a pool of applicants for a four week stay in a renovated post and beam barn. Wonderful building, beautiful view, and access to the materials specialists and R&D team that preserves and extends the quality of the Golden line.nnThat's what I appreciate most as an employee of Golden. When you make a product like paint, you offer it for customers to do what THEY want with it. That offer, that support, is a service. And for a few customers each year the Foundation can go a little further in that service.

Incredible place, the tour is a must. Love the gallery and the shop is heavenly! Employees are super nice and well informed.
