Just 5 minutes from I-29 at Nebraska Hwy 2. Beautiful building offers a brief look at the unbelievable feat of rowing up and down the Missouri River in the early 1800's. Slow down and stretch your legs for an hour or less and learn about how the West was first explored. Great view of the river. Good interactive displays for children. Virus safe, especially as you move outdoors on the well kept trails.

I was in town for a day and needing to kill some time. I did a little checking on my maps and found the Lewis and Clark museum. This place I found to be very interesting. They even have a replica of the actual ship that was used for the journey. Now I like hands on learning experiences and this museum has a fair amount of that, you can even steer a ship simulator once you get inside and run the oars to get a feel of the good ole paddling techniques. There is plenty to see and read, and also a well supplied gift shop with a lot of different souvenir type things to purchase. There is a downstairs section with a video room and lots of kid related activities. Outside again there are three different trails to walk on. Staff is quite friendly and helpful.Over all I had a very good time.
