It took 20 years to find a doctor to finally find out that I have an extra vertebrae, which is the cause of a lot of my back issues. I have multiple other issues that he found. Instead of throwing pain medication at me like the others, Dr. Herland explained all of my options; different injections, nerve burning, surgery. He knows I have Factor 5 (blood clotting disorder) and am on blood thinners. Normally, I've been denied any help due to this, but he agreed to try and was successful with no complications. I've had two injections that unfortunately didn't work for my conditions, and a nerve burning that also didn't help (not by his fault! My conditions are complicated.) I'm waiting for another appointment with him to discuss further options. I will NEVER trust another doctor for my back again. Dr. Herland is fantastic!!! He's funny, blunt, and makes sure you completely understand what he has told you before he moves on. He is passionate about his job and helping his patients. Best pain management doctor I've ever had.
