The Goddard School of Mokena

I believe that this place is more about the money than the actual care of children. I enrolled my son this year and made it clear that this was his first time in an environment like this and that I would like to see how it goes for him. He ended up getting very sick about halfway through the month and missed out on pretty much what was left in that month. When I told them my concerns with his health and that I wanted to pull him for the following month they told me that I would still have to pay because of their policy. A policy that is in place so that if kids want to join the class they have a timeframe to enroll them. Now I understand this, however his class is not full. On top of this they say they check for kids that are sick so everyone else doesn't catch what they have, but apparently that wasn't the case because my son is still fighting whatever he caught while in their care. I also want to point out that I feel there is very poor communication provided. I sent multiple emails stating he would be absent and never once received a verification response. Also when I sent an email stating I wanted to end enrollment and pull him, they sent nothing in response. Instead they waited until his father drove up to collect his things to tell him we still had to pay and that he might as well attend that month since we were paying anyway. Very disappointed with how this had gone for him. Paid a lot of money for my son to get sick and still be fighting off whatever illness he caught.

We have had a very positive experience so far at Goddard. The staff is wonderful, the building is clean and organized and we love the focus on curriculum and age appropriate goals.
