Washington District Library

This place has always been wonderful my children and I come here often and get books and movies. The staff is normally very friendly. Today Carrie Gibbons wasn't very friendly from the beginning. Since the holidays I had some books that were overdue and now in lost status. I have returned all of them. The other day the nice guy who worked there told me it wasn't an issue I just needed to bring back the books asap and let me check out books and DVDs. So I did that and returned all of them. Today I went and was going to check out some books. I walked right and and talked to Carrie she was the one at the desk. Just looking up a book for me she had an attitude and didn't seem like she wanted to be doing it. And once she scanned my card and realized I had a book that was lost everything that she said was nasty. Telling me over and over I need to not let them be overdue. I know that it was an accident I've been very busy. Even said I couldn't check out more books for my child and I. Said it was a huge deal. And I asked how come I couldn't check out anymore books even tho everything was turned in she said I had to wait till they were out of quarantine even tho the other day I was allowed to check out books so I know the computer would let me check out books she just didn't want to. Sometimes stuff happens in people's life it was the holidays it's not like I am always keeping my books way past due date I hardly ever do that and the man the other day understood. The fact that she wouldn't let me check any books out to just be a jerk is very sad. She needs better people skills. Specially for being the boss. Very sad.

Best use of my tax dollars besides our local school district. Wonderful array of services, helpful and friendly staff. Glad they have Sunday hours.

Great library!nAs I have seen some reviews about this: Saturday Hours DO change in the summer due to a decrease in business.n9 AM - 5 PM (September-May)n9 AM - 1 PM (June-August)nAll other hours stay the same.

Really nice library and staff but hours not helpful. Came all the way here on three occasions to find it closed. Is Saturday in June? Oops closed early. Open Sunday? Not until a month after announcement. I work 8 to 5 so I need reliable weekend hours. Great library, I want to use it more often.
