I’ve had lots of physical therapy from many different clinics in the Lake County/McHenry County IL area and Sports Physical Therapists (Fox Lake, IL) is the best.nnThe clinic is new, spacious, clean and well managed. The therapists are professional, knowledgeable, and personable. They are all excellent listeners, diagnosticians, and teachers. The best part was the amiable comfortable atmosphere and the amount of undivided personal attention I received.nnI got the results I wanted and am now armed with knowledge and exercises to help keep me mobile, flexible, and strong. Thank you Mike, Michelle, Carol, Joy, and Lori. You are a great team and I appreciate all you’ve done to help me.

Sports Physical Therapists has a great Certified Hand Therapist (CHT): Michelle Shamash. She works at two of their locations: Fox Lake, IL and Kenosha, WI.nnWhen I shattered my dominate wrist and had surgery to repair it, my surgeon advised physical therapy and urged me to see a Certified Hand Therapist and not a PT or OT. I am happy I did and am happy to have found wonderful Michelle Shamash OTR/L, CHT.nnMichelle created my splint, removed my stitches, cared for my wound, and helped restore the use of my thumb, fingers, wrist, hand, arm, and shoulder. She used heat, ultrasound, massage, stretching, and strengthening exercises. She recommended and coordinated getting a special medical device to use at home to increase my chances of recovering full mobility. She also treated my psyche, understanding how a traumatic event and the loss of use of your hand can take its toll. She was a great listener and educator, gladly sharing her medical knowledge on what was happening as my body healed and what I should do to get the best results.nnI saw Michelle twice a week for about 7 months, so I feel I got to know her well. She is smart, knowledgeable, professional, respected in her field, and has lots of experience. Her massages are especially effective and therapeutic, truly wonderful. And she is fun. If you have to spend a lot of time on physical therapy, it’s good to have a therapist you enjoy being around. Thank you Michelle for all the personal care you gave me and for helping me reach my recovery goals.

Outstanding facility. The best I have encountered in the northern Illinois suburbs.nThis is a clean facility with state of the art equipment, and my physical therapist, Mr. Michael Leitza, rates as one of the finest PT's I have worked with, he is thorough, exact and gets results. Works with adults as well as children.nFriendly and courteous receptionst, pleasant waiting room and parking is near the entrance.nI highly recommend the facility.
