Our mail carrier from this location is terrible! Constantly delivering mail that doesn’t belong here and despite packages reading “live animals” or “fragile” or “do not freeze” he just drops the box on the porch and drives away never ringing the doorbell. It is 5 degrees outside... packages that say “fragile” shouldn’t be left out there at all without ringing the doorbell.
They very rarely pick up the phone and if they do, they are very unprofessional. The person was chewing while talking than started to yell at me than hang up on me while I was trying to explain the reason of my call.
This post office is the best I have ever visited. I have to come to this one for business purposes and to mail important letters. The staff(multiple people have helped me) are very friendly and patient. I don’t understand the poor reviews. The people behind the counter work very hard and are essential workers who continue to come to work for us and keep the country moving.
The one rep/cashier on duty was unfriendly and curt, expecting customers to know everything and anything on their own, giving them attitude when that was not the case. She also rushed through all the options I am supposed to check on my side (address, shipping speed, etc.) without letting me get a word in edgewise.nnI witnessed another customer ask to speak to a manager. This manager was supposedly paged, but after no one showed up for 20 minutes, the customer just left. The cashier made no reference to the customer or attempt to stop him.nnThis was my first and last visit here.
I've used dozens of USPS locations because I have a small business and mail packages almost every day, but the 1515 S Grove Ave in Barrington is the worst performing post office I've ever visited. The one woman at the counter is the rudest, they don't answer their phones, they lie, yes, they bold face lie, the manager does nothing to increase performance, delivery is late. When you're dependent on your local logistics to make a living, it makes you want to move especially since they do little to want to improve. They almost taunt you with bad performance and their indifference (maybe defiance) to want to do better. Welcome to third world service right here in Barrington-such an anachronistic misfit.
