This is a big restaurant with so many tempting options to choose from. We went with a fajita combo that included shrimp, beef and chicken. All were perfectly prepared and very flavorful. Service was good, even though it was very busy. Enjoyable meal and lively atmosphere. Highly recommended!

I had never been to an Abuelo's so I did not at all expect the sheer elegance that defined this restaurant. Their are chiseled statues of men with top hats and canes along with colorful paintings of dancing women. The complimentary chips and salsa were a welcome addition to the sizzling hot two person fajitas I shared with my dad. The menu is one page, yet fits a variety of mouthwatering choices. I also briefly saw a rather large bar along with an outside eating area with plenty of tree shade. The prices for the food match the atmosphere, which is to say it is a little expensive.

I usually don't post bad ratings on a restaurant unless it is deserved. First off, our waiter didn't refill the chip basket when it was empty for a few minutes until we had to ask another waiter to refill our chip basket again. Second off, the original waiter that served us didn't refill our drinks when they were empty. Instead they refilled another table's drinks and just walked by our table until I had to point out the fact that we needed refills on our drinks. Thirdly, the shrimp that was served was burnt and super spicy. The only plus was that the Bathroom was extremely clean and the ambience was really good. Otherwise, my eating experience was pretty terrible in Lubbock.

Usually service is great. I had to go to the bar twice to get refills of tea. Lucky for her my husband wasn’t here. My waitress was detained- visiting at the bar. Almost an hour & I had to Ask her to check on my meal. It arrived with another waiter - lukewarm. My husband and I usually eat there once a week. We bring our kids there for celebrations. No more
