Hondo Public Library

Although this is a relatively new library the librarian doesn't seem to keep communication and training well with her staff. I called about using the computers and the staff person informed me that the library closes at 6:30. This must be the time that the staff leave the library as library hours state on the website, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. She also didn't mention that the computers automatically shut off at 5:30 so no matter what you are doing the computers shut down. The librarian states that this is how the ITT personnel have it scheduled for the library staff to commence closing procedures. When I voiced that I believed that this was not right and that the time on the computers should be extended, the librarian displayed a non caring attitude. I reminded her that the people living in the county help support the library being in existence. May I also note that I had been here at the library earlier this year and the staff wasn't that friendly. I was giving them the benefit of the doubt and trying the library again. Two other individuals as well as myself had to leave because the computers shut down and we weren't allow to finish. Don't waste your time here as the staff are the most non caring and all they do care about is making sure they close on time to leave. They don't care about a tax payer and customer receiving extra time, when they are almost done with submitting their forms over the computer. Consider other alternatives before wasting time here.

Had very good experience ladies were helpful

I dragged my feet getting here because the longer distance from our house. DO NOT make my mistake. Go NOW! If you have young children you will spend hours here: playing in the MANY imaginative play stations, exploring quality children's books (lots of Living Books are here), and being warmly welcomed by the numerous staff members. If a child could have a dream basement to play in and learn in all day long, it would look like the Hondo Public Library. WELL DONE Hondo!
