Southwest Branch - The Seattle Public Library

Such a fun place to visit!

Great story time every Wed at 10:30AM. The librarian who does story time is super organized and interactive. One of the best we’ve seen and it can get super crowded. Small parking and relatively a small library but there are many around the area. There are plenty of street parking. We mainly come here for the kids activities because of the wonderful story time and kids area. 2 levels with elevator access.

Love this private little corner library. They got their own parking lot as well ud83dudc4dud83cudffb The assistants were quick and helped me with getting a new card. Def will be back!

This is a really nice branch. I come here often to get work done outside of my home office. The only issue I have is cell phone usage. On three occasions I had to leave because someone was having multiple phone conversations like they were in a phone booth. I could see other patrons being annoyed but, like myself, they were hesitant to intervene. The last time I waited for the staff to say something, but after 30 mins I had to go.

This library is in a league of its own-I have been a patron for 13 years and I have checked out so many books, applied for many jobs, and browsed for hours. The southwest branch has become a second home to me, and while I have moved closer to another SPL branch, I will go out of my way for Southwest. The staff is super friendly and helpful, and the bathrooms are always clean.
