This county is getting better, they are getting new buses and are able to fix problems quicker. I do think that the buses should have special horns that play a song like Seven Nation Army or Handclap and possibly they could do horn battles at school and on the last day of school, all buses will line up and play a harmonic horn blast. They should at least do 7 short beeps and a long one to get students attention if they miss the bus. I do dislike how they are making a new rule that people that play the trombone can no longer bring it on the bus which is stupid and some kids can’t ride with parents home. I just think that this is stupid so please help me prevent them from doing this cause they said they may prevent all instruments being brought on to the bus excluding extra curricular activities.

The OCS Transportation dept needs a MAJOR overhaul. For the 3rd year in a row, my child was late several days the first week of school due to poor planning. This year, the bus was 90 minutes late on Day 1--90 minutes! There also has been a different pm driver everyday--they use a different sub each afternoon so the kids are never dropped off at the right house and there is NO consistency in arrival time from day to day. If there is a driver shortage, then they need to be proactive in anticipating that and hiring accordingly. Lastly, there is very poor communication regarding transportation--i.e., they do not notify parents of late buses, NO-show buses, different drivers, changed routes, etc. Very poorly managed and disorganized department.
