I very rarely if ever leave reviews about anything and I am extremely particular about who does my hair, I have very thin hair and a lot of health issues that effect my hair growth and condition. If you have any of these same issues I suggest you go and see Leanne at the Smart Style Hair Salon (inside the Richlands Walmart-) She is AMAZING! I won’t let anyone else touch my hair! I decided last year to transition to my natural silver/grey hair as opposed to dying my roots every 3-4 weeks, I had medium brown colored hair so it was a process that we accomplished in 3 sessions so that my hair wasn’t damaged or burnt and the end result is gorgeous! I am an all natural silvery/ ash blonde/grey color that is beautiful and with regular trims to keep my inverted bob haircut in shape my hair is healthier than it’s been in 20 years! I can’t say enough about how great she is and what a spectacular job she does. If you want a down to earth, funny but still professional hairdresser that will be honest with you about what is actually possible in regards to hair color, cuts or styles and as long as it is possible she gets it done, and gets it done beautifully, then Leanne is the Hairdresser for you!! I would give my experience with Leanne zero stars, if I could. If you are a person of color, DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON. I had just returned from a deployment and was desperate to get my hair relaxed (unfortunately the salons I wanted to go to didn’t have availability). I called and asked if they were experienced in applying relaxers to African American hair. I spoke to Leanne and she ensured me that she had experience doing what I was asking for, so we scheduled an appointment for that evening at 5pm. When I first got there, I saw the first red flag, but unfortunately I was so desperate, I ignored it. I arrived on-time for my appointment, but Leanne was cutting a man’s hair. I waited patiently at the counter about 10 feet away from her, and although she clearly saw me, she didn’t acknowledge me. She was the only employee in the salon at the time. I told myself that maybe she just didn’t want to be rude to the customer in her chair. After about 5 minutes, I decided to walk around the rest of the store and do some shopping for a few minutes while I waited (AFTER my scheduled appointment time). When I returned 10 minutes later, Leanne was outside smoking. After her smoke break (it was now past 5:35), she walked in and said “You must be my 5 o’clock”.nLike I said, there were tons of red flags that I lol back on now and question why I ever let her touch my hair, but I was desperate.nI once again asked her about her experience level with black hair. She went on to tell me that she was the only white lady at the all-black beauty school she attended. She told me that she had extensive experience doing black hair and relaxers. I had no reason not to believe her. Although I am very articulate, I noticed during our conversation that she was not...she spoke in a way that reminded me of the stereotypical black woman from a bad movie. But each time a white customer came to the counter, she immediately acknowledged them and spoke very proper and articulate. The minute they walked away, she reverted back to her “ghetto” facade.nWith regards to my hair, she left the relaxer in for so long on the right side, that there was no time to properly apply it to the left side. I kept telling her that my scalp was starting to burn, but she kept moving slow and saying she was almost done. Once it became too unbearable, I told her we were done and needed to wash it out right then. She washed it out and sprayed water all over my shirt. Afterwards, while she was flat ironing my hair, she kept putting a ton of oil on every section before she flat ironed it, so of course, the oil popped up and burned my scalp! After a couple times I told her the correct way that she should be doing it.nnI’m way too nice so I actually paid her for her services and gave her a tip. The next morning when I woke up, my scalp had scabs on it and my hair was breaking off! I went back and asked her for a refund...she had the audacity to have an attitude with me! She lied about her experience level, messed up MY hair, and then had the nerve to have any attitude with me??? I was so baffled. Worst experience EVER!

I had Leanne She cut and styled my hair and did a wonderful job. She also cut and highlighted my daughters hair and it looks beautiful. We will not be using anyone but her from now on. She also did my eyebrows and they look amazing. She's a wonderful hairdresser, and knows her stuff. Thanks Leanne ud83dude18
