Dr. Chakraborty is easily one of the best O.B./G.Y.Ns in the DMV area. She’s a very firm doctor and will tell you how it is, but she’s very compassionate and cares very much about her patients. If something is not feasible and may do more harm than good, she will tell you that. If you’re doing something to danger yourself or your baby, she will also tell you that. I would say that every patient I have talked to about her absolutely loves her, and so do her staff and colleagues. Going to her, you would get the best possible care. I highly recommend her!

Washington Hospital Center is where I had my baby. Overall, I would give the hospital 5 stars, however I am giving it one star to alert you to a very unethical doctor. Soma Chakraborty, M.D. Obstetrics and GynecologynWest End Medical Center. She yelled at me when I got there and said I had no right to choose the method of induction. I wanted Cervadil and she wanted me to have Cytotec, which is not recommended for induction by the AMA. She made me feel like I was a bad mother by choosing Cervadil. I reported her to the hospital, but I wonder how many others she has hurt and abused. I surely hope she has changed her personality and bedside manner since I originally posted this on Yelp. She was a horrid human being then. I just hope she has changed for the better and isn't traumatizing new moms anymore.
