Smiles by the Bay Orthodontics: Dr. Mary C. Trahar, DDS, PA

Been taking my twins here for a while now. Up until yesterday, I've been very pleased with the work and staff. Yesterday, I was late getting the boys to their 10:05 appointment and started checking in around 10:13. The covid check in site wouldn't come up on my phone or the phone of boy number 1. Number 2 got it up and I started there. By the time I got them checked in it was 10:18. Then I get a call from someone in the office stating that it was too late and I would have to come back at 11:40. This is where I have an issue. I'm perfectly willing to take the new appointment since I was the one that was late. I didn't argue or anything. Yet, the staff member who called me was snippy and rude. She was also rude to my wife when they called to see where we were. I know some clients can be hard to deal with but we don't cause any trouble and don't deserve to be treated like this. This is the only place on the shore where my boys can get their braces worked on and we do what we need to in order to deal with it. We drive over an hour one way. I don't complain when we have to wait on the days when the boys don't go back on their appointment time. I own a business myself and we're all stressed. But this staff member shouldn't be dealing with clients if she can't get her temperment under control. It would also be nice if they spoke to me or my wife about the next appointment date and time and not the kids. The kids don't know anything about that and calling back to change appointment times can be a little frustrating. We love coming to you to get our work done and hope that these two issues can be addressed.

The staff is extremely friendly. From my first consultation to all my visits for adjustments, it has been a good experience. Samantha was very helpful in signing me up. All the assistants are quick and friendly along with Dr Trahar. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Very helpful and informative staff. Over all great experiences. The only issue that I have is that parents can not go in the treatment area with their minor children.

The staff is very professional and informative. The new office in Denton is beautiful, warm and the all open concept is very inviting from the time you walk in. We are looking forward to the care that our son will have over the next couple years on his way to beautiful teeth!

This place is great and deserves more 5 star reviews. I have been through an awful battle of finding an orthodontist I like and trust since I am getting braces. Since my first appointment, they have had my full unconditional trust. The staff is so pleasant and nice, and Dr. Trahar is wonderful too. Also, somehow this place is so fast. I've never experienced this before. I called for a consultation appointment, and I made the appointment the same week that I called. I came to my appointment, they took pictures of my mouth to send to my insurance, and the NEXT DAY I got a call saying it was approved and I scheduled to get my braces put on just a bit over a week later !! I've had much longer experiences, once taking almost a whole summer before I decided not to sign myself up for 2 years with them. This place is great, I recommend to everyone.
