The 1888 House

IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS I WOULD!!! When we booked the 1888 House for our rehearsal we were SO excited with the flexibility for use of the space (use of space all day from 10am-11pm per the contract) and to be downtown. However, when we went to look at the house again we were extremely disappointed to hear that they were not going to honor the terms of the contract and that we would have limited use of the space. Not only were we going to have to change our plans, but the owner (Katherine) was EXTREMELY RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL unlike anything I have ever experienced and she truly made this a terrible experience for us. She was SCREAMING at me over the phone, would not allow me to talk, and had never even met us or talked to us before. I was appalled at the way she handled the situation. Had she just been nice and willing to work with us we would have been willing to negotiate. After she wanted to break the contract, she threatened us our ability to hold our rehearsal dinner there unless we agreed to shorter terms for the day and said that she would be “generous” and give our deposit back. To me it should never have been a consideration whether to give us a refund when SHE was breaking the contract. They made multiple comments about how they don’t care about using the space for events and that they are just ready for October to be here so that they can turn the space into their home, which is fine, but maybe they should discontinue events. VERY UPSET with the whole situation. TERRIBLE company, DO NOT CONSIDER!!!

We had our wedding here and everything was absolutely PERFECT! Sarah Beth was an incredible coordinator and truly went above and beyond in making our day. I cannot thank her enough! The house is stunning and it suite our needs in every way. If you’re wanting to have your wedding in a beautiful venue and want to work with the most professional people, look no further! The 1888 House is for you!

We had our rehearsal dinner here in September. It turned out beautifully. We loved the space- had apps and dinner down stairs and then music, speeches and drinks upstairs.
