Atlanta On Wheels

Great experience here. I got my 03 Disco from Jay and absolutely love it. Jay is very knowledgeable and answered every question i had. I'm a bit of a nerd and want to know every aspect of my purchases. No complaints on my part. I highly recommend.

My family (husband, daughter, and I) have dealt with Atlanta On Wheels for at least 10 years. Atlanta On Wheels had or located the cars or SUVs we decided to purchase. The vehicles were founded to be as described, no surprise. Calvin and service has been fine to deal with; excellent, timely work at fair prices. We are pleased therefore we have referred family and friends with confidence to Atlanta On Wheels. They have experienced the same.

I bought a fully loaded $30k 2004 discovery from Jay back in August, which has been anything but reliable.nnI knew it was probably the most expensive Discovery in the USA, but I was also expecting a reliable truck.nnHere is a little more detail on my experience:nnI am located n California, so all the deal and details were worked over the phone. When the truck was ready I flew to Georgia to pick it up. To my surprise when Jay picked me up to deliver the truck he told me the truck had a salvage title, so obviously I did not buy the truck. A few weeks later, Jay contacted me and told me that he could build me the exact same truck in a low mileage truck he had available and with a clean title, so we started the whole process again. When the build was done, I then decided to ship the truck to California. The truck arrived with loosen bolts and dents everywhere, but nothing that mattered at that time, so got those fix. AC drain was plugged so after using the truck a few miles the interior got flooded. LED lights were installed backwards, so they were not turning on at night. On our first trip of 100 miles the O2 sensors and MAF failed. I had paid for heavy duty shaft, which my mechanic pointed out it was not installed. Long story short, within the first 500 miles the truck had already been 3 times in the shop as it broke down every time my family and I tried to use it. It got to a point where my wife did not want us to use the truck as we always had to call road assistance to get us back home.nnIt ended up in me having to swap the engine for a brand new Turner Engineering motor and change most of the auxiliaries to be able to use the truck with confidence. At the end I had to spend $14k more than originally planned to get a reliable truck.nnBuy a truck from here if you want a project car to work on, but not if you are looking for a reliable 4x4.nnTruck now looks great, so gave Jay 2 stars!

I purchased a 2003 Discovery from Jay and its been two years this month. I want to let others interested in Discos know that this is a great place to look and they offer full service and warranty work. Calvin has been helpful in every repair the truck has needed, as they do require close care and maintenance as anyone buying a Land Rover knows, as well as oil changes and basic checkups. I love my truck and am assured peace of mind knowing that these guys are there when I need them if problems arise from time to time.

My son purchased an 03 Disco from Jay last year. After Jay and his crew finished the refurbish we drove up to Atlanta in my Jeep and used the Disco to tow the Jeep back home. The whole transaction took less than 30 Minutes. Jay kept us up to date on the progress of the build before we made the trip. Disco's are not for everyone. They are easy to work on and the parts are inexpensive, but you do have to have some mechanical ability to fix the small things. I called Jay a couple of days ago about a transmission issue. He diagnosed it over the phone (xyz neutral safety switch). Ordered one on eBay and replaced it with no problem. Ignition switch wore out recently....eBay $149.00 for ignition switch matching door lock and 2 keys. Jay and Calvin are always available to answer any question we have. We've enjoyed our Disco and I am considering buying another for myself. If I do it will be from Jay @ Atlanta On Wheels. These guys have the knowledge and share it for free long after the sale.
