Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Town Center

Shout out to Gina, my sons nurse for his MRI. She was patient, knowledgeable and sweet. Loved almost the whole visit. The ladys at check in were loud and a little too relaxed with patients and parents around but Gina definitely made up for the rest of the visit. My son is 4 and she talked to the Dr about him not being sedated for the MRI and it went great!

We always have to wait forever. I always spend 4 hours or more...nI will convince my kids's pediatrician to sign iwith the wellstar bcs childrens is horrible. We are waiting 1 hour to go inside the room.... then more 2 hours til the doctor see the kuds then 2 more hours to the end of the process.... it is ridiculous

I had a great experience at this location. I live in Kennesaw but was always having to drive 30 minutes or more to see CHOA providers. I went to this location specifically to see a new endocrinologist, we transferred to this location for convenience. Check-in was smooth, the wait wasn’t long, they even called us back before the actual appointment time. I can’t say enough great things about Dr. G. She reviewed my son’s chart and was very familiar with his history when she met with us. she included my son in the conversations and explained things in a way that he could understand. she spent quality time during our visit which you don’t always get. I left having answers to my questions and a plan.nnMy child is a regular patient of several CHOA departments as he is disabled and requires regular care, office visits, surgeries and follow-ups. This was our first time at the new building and the only complaint that I had was the receptionist who talked about getting drunk off mimosas at her hairdresser. The conversation was totally inappropriate. We’ve visited the urgent care and radiology department at this location several times, wait times can be a little long sometimes even with an appointment but we always receive good service. I read a lot of the negative reviews and I can honestly say we’ve been visiting this location for some years now and have never had a bad experience. I’m actually looking forward to transferring more of our services to this location because we live close by. Also, I appreciated how they went the extra mile to disinfect everything prior to use or upon returning items to you while Covid is still a problem.

This radiology team needs professional training in patient relations, age appropriate dialogue, explaining procedures and compassion. Somewhere along the way, they have forgotten that their patients are small CHILDREN. I will share my terrible experience with my pediatric physicians. From check in to check out, nothing went right. Wrong patientnname, freezing temperatures, failed imaging, poor instructions, redundant paperwork, rude behavior..... I ran to my car as I was relieved to leave.

We had an appointment at the Radiology and Lab center for an MRI for our son. One would think, with mask requirements and 6 foot distancing , you’d allow 2 parents in the facility. One wouldnAlso think when they called to give us an earlier appointment time they would have expressed that only one parent allowed. Absolutely ridiculous that both parents can’t be present with their child for any doctors appointment, but especially a procedure or a lab. And of course the comment related to my “Lions not Sheep” hat was one that a health professional shouldn’t make out loud. Let’s not forget the mask requirement doesn’t dictate the kind of mask, and 90% of the masks worn are useless anyway. Also funny that the building across the street is Children’s outpatient care center, where we had a doctor visit this am, and they allowed 2 parties with patient. The inability to be consistent is part of the problem. Pick an agenda, stay consistent and stick to it.
