Cooking In High Heels (08/17/2020)
Wow. This has to be the most unprofessional office I’ve ever been too. It very much seems as far as the office goes that the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. They fail to communicate with me as a patient and it seems with each other. I won’t go into great detail on how horrible the customer service is. Dr Vanhorn spends about five minutes with you and is un-attentive as possible. The last time I had a physical she tried to bully me into getting a flu shot. She interrupts when you are talking and seems to simply not care. I’ve given this office multiple chances and this was my last. They screwed up my appointment and then tried to do a tele health visit for a physical. And how do you take vitals and do blood work for a telehealth visit? They run late and are unprofessional and I am DONE.

The staff was very timely (took me longer to fill out the paperwork than to be called back, triaged, etc), polite, and friendly! Dr. Van Horn herself was AMAZING! By far the best physician experience I’ve ever had. She was kind, caring, attentive, truly seemed to care about me as a patient, and listened to my concerns and feedback. She is very knowledgeable and worked with me to explore my options and come to an informed decision about my health. 10/10 recommend for anyone looking for a general physician!

Dr Van Horn is compassionate, professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. I felt listened to and well taken care of.nAudrey at the front desk is a gem and always makes me smile whenever I have to call in for anything!

I have already written this review on the Hague Medical Associates reviews, but I think its misleading to look at your doctor's reviews and not have it match up with your experience. She is associated with this place, and contributed just as much to my bad experience.nnThis is one of the worst doctor's offices I have ever been to. They tell you to make your appointment via e-mail, which I did. They never got back to me three days later, so I ended up calling to make an appointment. When I am giving my identification to the desk, one of desk workers says to the other one that she has a patient who is very pissed on the phone about billing. Then another patient comes in for her appointment, and I overhear her she saying she is angry because they charged it when she wasn't suppose to be charged. It throws a little red flag when two separate people are mad about billing problems. When I am taken back, the nurse never shuts the doors, and proceeds to discuss my medical issues when other patients could hear. This would seem to be a HIPPA violation. Then the doctor doesn't even give me a full physical examination. Dr. Van Horn wanted me to come back at a later time. Mind you, I was a full 45 minutes early, so it wasn't that I had messed up any scheduling. I ask the nurse if I can just have the physical examination done now, and she blows me off saying it would be best if I just come back in a few weeks to also discuss blood work. I am a busy person, and I can't just take off of work whenever I please. Also, my insurance will only fully cover one visit per year thus I would have to pay out of pocket for my next visit when it could just be done in one visit. In the past, my old doctor's office would do the full physical exam (way more thorough too!) and just call about blood results. When I get my blood done, the woman complains that the doctor didn't put in the order and that she will have to stay later. Overall, very unprofessional, rude, and inefficient staff, nurses, and doctors. I will not be coming back.

0 stars. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Marilyn Van Horn for a particular reason: to get an annual Pap Smear, and I specifically ask if this is possible as I booked my appt. over the phone. I wait 15 minutes in the lobby or more, and by the time I see Dr. Van Horn she asks how I am doing and talked about my work, and checked my vitals with a stethoscope, and doesn't bring up the pap smear, and when I finally did she says, oh okay when was your last one? and I say at womens caring a few years ago. After a few more words, she said, I'll write this down as a physical. She ushers me out of the room and directs me out towards the receptionist. I sit there and say am i going to have a pap smear done? and the receptionist, says oh you didn't have one? Let me check, please wait in the lobby. After another 15 minutes, she says okay the nurse will speak with you. A nurse met me in a patient room and said Dr. Van Horn listed this as a physical because you mentioned irregular results at your last pap smear. I said well I also told her that I had gotten regular results at that 6-month follow-up after that was found. I had already requested off work for this. Is there anything she can do to perform this today? The nurse leaves, and finally comes back with Dr. Van Horn who says Oh, you had irregular results before so i wanted you to follow up with a gynocologist. In my head, i thought what she didn't even mention this to me earlier, and I already told her I had regular results thereafter. And for some reason they perform the pap smear at this point, and Dr. Van Horn says, see even if we do this today, if the results are irregular, you'll still have to go see your gynocologist for another one. A week later, I receive a letter in the mail saying that my Pap Smear was fine and regular. What an unprofessional she is. This office said I can have a procedure done when I made the appointment, and they tried to just take my money with no explanation. Never seeing them again.nnAlso DO NOT let her prescribe you birth control. She was so reckless. After a few hours, she prescribes me Vienva. Just look up the reviews on that medication. I looked it up too late, my body was so weak. I called for a different medication and the nurse said oh you have to go speak to a gynocologist, we can't change that prescription for you.
