Hampton Roads Pediatrics in Central Park Professional Center

Always had great whole office care except today 03/26/21. Receptionist was disorganized and did not use aseptic techniques for any of the observed interactions. She had patients leaning on counters with no sanitizer in sight or use. They stood there for 40 minutes filling out existing patient forms. There were only 2 other families in the waiting area already checked in. She didn't wipe a counter or clipboard between families. I understand if you're busy things happen but she was just sweet and lazy. I offered her some sani wipes as a nice hint on the way out. I don't usually make improvement reviews... these are people's children. You shouldn't be at risk for illness going to the pediatrician.

The doctors I had are trash professionals . Guesser an insinuating unknowing creatures. It has to be another office better than this.

I have taken all of my kids here since they were born till now. My oldest is 13. Their receptionists were always on the downside. My first time, I brought my daughter in she was a week old. After Christmas I was told to bring her in to make sure she was fine. We noticed she was jaundiced and I called the doctor to let her know and she informed me to let the front desk know so that we would be brought in right away. I got there and informed the receptionist as instructed. The receptionist said “ok” after waiting 10 min I asked again if she had talked to our doctor and she said she was filling out paper work and to wait. I waited another 10 min and asked again...she said “I’m going to go and let your nurse know your here.” !!! Short story, the Doctor had a talk with her and she got in trouble. I saw her only once more after that. I stayed with this location because the doctor was very good. The receptionist were changed over time and they went through years of changing their front staff because they were rude to parents. For the past 2 years their front desk desk have become friendlier and the doctors have gone and left. The new doctor my children have has been nice. Except for today. I answered one of their questions honestly. I had slight allergies when the weather turned warm and despite our temperatures being normal during check in, no runny noses the past few days, they turned us away. I understand the concerns of covid and the fear towards it. My family and I have been very careful and sanitize and wear our masks diligently everywhere we go. We don’t even go out much aside from grocery shopping and school and doctor appointments and to visit family members who are just as careful as we are. I couldn’t help but feel as though we were just dismissed and thrown to the side despite going to the same doctor for the past 4-5 years. This is all due to me answering honestly about having had a runny nose (due to allergies) and in the day we had warm weather in December. They dismissed us as if we were nothing and told us to rescheduled three weeks from now. They didn’t even consider our current well being, normal temps, no runny nose, coughing, or any other covid like symptoms. I have mixed feelings now because I feel like they were over the top and over conservative in their decisions to just cancel my children’s appointments. None of us were sick, temperatures normal, no runny nose, sneezing or coughing. We couldn’t go to their desired or available location and so I was told they will just call us. The receptionist even gave me a cold shoulder and made me feel like my children and I were being ousted out. I mean wow...we’ve been going there and seeing the same doctor for the past 4-5 years.

So far I am extremely happy with this office. Dr. Eichelberger and the nurses are so nice and truly care about my son. Being a new mom, they have always been quick to return my calls and provide me with the best advice. My family and I thank you!

Slow! Extremely slow wait times! I don’t particularly care much for the front desk receptionists either. I stopped my children form seeing Dr. Sheppard, she did not seem very interested in the health of my children. Other than that, appointment wait times are ridiculous and ease of making appointments are a complete hassle.
