Been getting food from here so often that some of the waiters know what we typically order. I honestly think this restaurant really knows it’s customers, because I don’t feel like we’d eat here more than once a month or once every two months. They have a made in house tomatillo sauce that is divine! Only thing is, the spice level varies day to day. Food is great. I’ve ordered from other Mexican restaurants in the area and this by far is the best I’ve had
Nice spaced out set up. Nice decor. I came for takeout and I will come back to sit down. Very courteous staff! Food was good!
Tonight 10 of us went to celebrate my son's birthday. Of the 10 people, six this was their first time coming to this restaurant. While ordering there was a water bug on the back of my sister-in-law's chair. The hostess pointed out to the waiter who grabbed a napkin and tried to discreetly get rid of it it, it fell to the floor and continued to walk away. The bug then made its way around the table and went around the corner. Nobody attempted to get rid of it. A little while later it came out was walking down the middle of the restaurant and a waiter stopped saw it and moved away and went around it.nnI spoke to the manager who was apologetic. I understand the rain can bring bugs in that you don't normally have but it was the way that it was handled. The manager was actually the only one who once came over and found out what was going on attempted to actually find it and get rid of it. Coincidentally the general manager happened to be there and the manager introduced me and as I explained it to him he was very rude, very defensive, and completely unapologetic. This was only my second time there, both times the wait staff was very nice but it was very slow. I personally won't be going back simply because of the general managers demeanor.
Definitely do not go here under any circumstances. Went here for happy hour and had two margaritas. Their margaritas come in different sizes and can be quite big, but truthfully, I’m no lightweight! So it was fine, or so I thought. It was a last minute decision to go so I had already eaten before I went. That being said, the waiter seemed to be extremely irritated that no one ordered food, even though we sat in the bar, and none of us ordered the happy hour special so all of our drinks were full price. I had to leave to be somewhere else, and started feeling ill as soon as I left. I actually had to pull over to the side of the road and vomit for 15 minutes straight after leaving here. I think that the juice or mix in one of my margaritas was spoiled because I ordered one that no one else did. I called the restaurant to tell them their margaritas made me sick, and the MANAGER told me because 10 or more people didn’t get sick there was nothing he could or was going to do! Then he hung up on me! This probably means people get sick there all the time because it sounded perfectly rehearsed and who has a standard of 10 or more people being a deciding factor as to whether you check on an issue, especially when comes to people getting sick. It was beyond off-putting because I didn’t have an attitude and was calmly explaining what happened. I was too weak from vomiting to even raise my voice, I was exhausted. But he didn’t care or even offer a half-hearted ‘hope you feel better, sorry that happened’ nothing! That tells you how much they care about their customers. When I called to update my friend she also told me they charged her for my second margarita even though I paid my tab, and tipped well! I used to be a waitress and even with the sub par service we received, I tried to be considerate that people are trying to make a living. I had hoped to have one of my birthday dinners here next month, because it is spacious and nicely decorated, but now you couldn’t pay me to go back! Bottom line, don’t go here, I never will again. Wish I could give it -5 stars, sorry not sorry.
My wife and I have never been disappointed with La Parrilla and we have not once looked for, or even considered trying a different Mexican restaurant after finding them. We have lived all over the country and it is some of the best out there- it even rivals the authentic Mexican cuisine we ate in Santa Barbara. If you want excellent Mexican food, look no further!
