I recently closed on a home through Chicago Title Insurance. They were so helpful and communication was top notch! I really enjoyed the nice agent lady that sat with me to sign all my paperwork to finalize the deal. She was the most knowledgeable and meticulous person I have ever met. Great service. I will be using them again.

I’m sharing my recent experience with the Bellevue, WA Chicago Title office in the hope it will be helpful for others considering their services. While Jun and Lachmi were personable, I would not choose to work again with them again, at least not this office.nnIn summary:n•tMy agent chose Chicago Title because they had offices in Bellingham (seller) and Seattle (buyer) area; after the fact, we were told the Bellingham office was closed for signingsn•tWe received an email from Chicago Title without context so I asked my agent to verify the legitimacy of the request before clicking on the linksn•tMy agent called three times, with no response, before working through the seller agent to confirm who they weren•tWe requested a virtual signing process due to the Bellingham office closure - they said it wasn’t possiblen•tWe requested a copy of the final schedule prior to signing for review and verification - no responsen•tHaving not received the docs by late evening the night before, I sent an email cancelling the signingn•tI received an immediate response and, within an hour, received the requested doc -- which had errorsn•tThey listed an allocation of $750 for the final utility payment instead of the $455 City estimate -- only after I pushed back did she lower the amount to $600; the final bill was ~$185n•tDue to a medical appointment, I asked to change the appointment time - their response was that I would need to wait four hours, which I declinedn•tI wanted to support the buyer’s request for a quick closing but, due to errors and challenges getting the appointment scheduled, I asked that we delay closing until we could all get on the same pagen•tI immediately received a call suggesting we use virtual signing with a mobile notary for the single doc that required notarization; she added ‘this will be less expensive’n•tI completed the paperwork virtually and signed with the mobile notaryn•tWhen I received the final settlement, they had added a non-disclosed fee of $100 for the mobile notaryn•tMy real estate agent, with 40 years’ experience, outlined the process for the wire transfern•tMy financial advisor, as he tracked the final wiring of funds, described Chicago Title’s interactions as ‘strange’; he said it seemed as if they’d never before managed a wire transfern•tThe sale completed June 23rd and, only after multiple promptings did I receive the refund for overpayment of utilities on July 10thnnI paid for Chicago Title’s services, and they’re supposed to be the experts so I don’t understand why:n•tWe didn’t establish virtual signing in the first place, as originally requestedn•tThere were errors in the final documentn•tThey didn’t disclose the mobile notary feen•tThey marked up the utility deposit from $455 to $750n•tThey didn’t understand the final wiring processn•tThey delayed return of utility deposit monies

I had poor experience when this company issues check (fraudulent transaction) and it did not result in payment and I had to follow-up for months and still investigation of fraud is in progress.

I recently closed my home, the signing experience at Bellevue office was awful and very unprofessional. Notary has his previous appointment ends late, during my signing process he keeps pushing me sign without having me reading the texts, saying just sing it. And keep saying he only has limited amount of time. This is unacceptable with regards that this is nothing extra but right the service that you charge for and should provide with.
