when you hire sub contractors to do repairs on the streets you should have inspectors checking to made should that parts that are being repave must be done correctly or street that need to be completely should be done in a timely manner.

Went for hazardous matl day June 2020 and one trip so far to drop off junk and workers were very kind and helpful.

I don't know why you would say no customers were affected since the water in Tatnuck was shut off, as in no water. You should have sent some Alert so the police did not have to field questions on the situation. Customer Service in the morning kept saying that Alerts were sent out around 1am. Wrong. After 8:30am is more like it. The water dept. had a voice message about inclement weather.

Always very responsive and super helpful . I love the Worcester dpw.nIn Worcester, typically firefighters, police, and veterans get all the kudos. There is a group of unsung heroes that get more negative comments than they deserve. They are the workers of the Worcester DPW. People are very quick to call them out publicly while their crews work around the clock patching roads, plowing snow while spending time away from their families. People whined that there was no fall leaf pickup. A DPW worker replied that they would have to raise costs of trash bags and other services to get spring pickup back.nnDo people not realize that money has to come from somewhere? I have called and voiced concerns about missed recycling and potholes. They dispatch someone to pickup recycling and went above and beyond on the pothole repair. They could have told me to go pound sand and done nothing. People need to recognize the DPW for the great work they do and be grateful that we at least have a leaf pickup. Not everywhere has that.nnThey are the backbone of our great city and deserve more recognition. Worcester responded to an email at 2:45am Tuesday morning in the middle of the storm. If that isn’t selfless service, I don’t know what is. I was asleep in my bed and the DPW was working to keep me safe the next morning. Instead of dumping on them, maybe people should bring coffee and donuts to them.

The employees at the DPW respond quickly to problems, and even follow up later on to make sure everything is all set. Everyone there seems very kind.
