I have been a member of St. Luke's parish for over 60 years and have the honor of being keeper of the keys for this beautiful and historic church. Our old stone church built by Charles Wright in 1881 is absolutely beautiful , however that beauty is far exceeded by the beauty of the people of our congregation. We have services at 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM.on Sundays. Please come and visit us . All are welcome !

It is Where i grew up going to and there is a children's choir for ages preK to 8th grade. There also it's a women's choir men's choir and chancel choir. This church was originally down town Tacoma but was then taken down brick by brick and taken to where it is now.i love this church so much and i hope others enjoy it as much as i do.

my absolute favorite church! I grew up going to st. Luke's memorial episcopal church, and I love how the history of it goes. so, this church, was originally founded in 1882 in broadway overlooking commencement bay. the steeple was used as a landmark for seafarers coming into the port of tacoma. In the 1920's this church was badly vandalized, and basically abandoned, a nd bought by a stone mason for fireplaces. then a young priest named arthur bell , later cannon bell decided to rescue it, re- purchased it, and brought up to it's location where it is now on , 3615 N Gove St, Tacoma, WA 98407. they took it apart stone by stone, and built it all up again with all the same things it had. I got most of this Info from Reverend Marlene Jacobs, our priest. I also knew some of these things. there is a choir for children pre-K-8th grade. there is also a chancel choir,women's choir, and men's choir. we have one of my favorite church events when we celebrate the day jesus came back and all the children and people tried to touch him with palm leaves, on palm sunday, which that service is when we get to walk behind a bagpipe player, and we walk all around the block behind all the choirs, waving palm leaves around. that starts at 10:00 A.M. then we have good friday, after the day jesus was crucified and buried under pontius pilate. then the third day, sunday, easter! there is a 7:00 A.M. service at owens beach, then there is an 8:30 A.M service with the choristers! along with the easter egg hunt from ages pre-K through 5th grade. then there is the 10 A.M service that is just with the chancel choir. we have lots of fun at St Luke's memorial Episcopal church! anyone is welcome!
