AMC CLASSIC Corvallis 12

Just another bleak and cavernous cineplex with the worst popcorn in the world; the stuff will make your tongue shrivel like salt on a garden slug. Sometimes they have films my children want to see, but even my kids kind of dread the place these days because the screens are so small and the concessions are so overpriced. We are all learning to treasure the few alternative cinema houses in town.

Preface: 20 years ago I worked at movie theaters and assisted in managing a drive in. I'm also used to megaplex type theaters.nnThis theater is adequate and would be deserving of a 3 star rating if it priced its movies accordingly. The theater is a throwback to yesteryear and not in in a good way. The facility is small, it feels cramped. The theater decor needs a modern remodel. The seating is fine, adequate for the 1990's. Of all the theaters in the Albany/Corvallis valley area this one is the last one I'd go to if given a choice. This is the kind of place that needs a renivation.nnThe movies are of course movies: and like most other movie theaters they splice 20+ minutes of trailers after they've shown advertisements.nnGiven the choice I'd stay at home and make popcorn with the kids and watch netflix vs going out to this theater. If I want to go out to the movies I'll find another theater.

Great theater! Feels great to go again!

It was interesting going back to the theaters. In case you forget a mask they had a sign saying they had masks for $1. For concessions they had markers on the floor to ensure social distancing. Currently they're not doing refills. If you get a soda you'll bring a cup to someone on the other side of the room and they'll fill it up with what you want. Also they have a limited menu. Before we could go to the auditorium they had us sign in. Overall it seemed pretty organized and I enjoyed the movie Unhinged.

Movie I watched was terrible but the AMC here did an excellent job on their day of reopening from being shut down in the coronavirus season. Price isn't terrible, especially if you buy in person, great place to take kids, friends, or dates. Very well maintained and clean.
