Our drive through Mariposa County and Coulterville will be remembered very fondly. The views were stunning and there were hardly any other cars around in early February 2021.nThe History Center featured the Whilstling Billy; the black locomotive on my photos. The red locomotive had a sign that said Vacation Rentals. It was unclear if guests might be able to stay in the locomotive itself?

Very friendly place. Rotating exhibits. Clean. Interesting. Gold Country Bistro and the store, easy walk through charming town, serve lunch. Coyote Consignment has rebooted and is offering items from many local residents. Great flower shop and Muir Center. Trading Post is wonderful! Sadly, saloon is closed for awhile. Just a great town to stroll around. Jeffrey Hotel opening stalled, on the market. You can get a massage right in town now! Bakery is open for the season.

Excellent display of early mining and geologic history of area. Easy to access. Free!

A wonderful little piece of gold mining history as well as quite a bit from Yosemite and surrounding towns
