The Common's Lunch

Great food, great service! Chowder excellent! Indoor, outdoor and take out available during these Covid times! Quaint small town charm. Came recommended to us by a local business. I would highly recommend and will definitely be back on our next visit.

Great place for a meal. The location is beautiful and the food, delicious! We had the Clam Stew! YUM!!

Got hash browns and oatmeal this morning to go. My “cup” of oatmeal was only 3/4 full. No maple syrup included in the bag.nGot uncooked white hashbrowns...no salt which perhaps is because you can add to taste and that was not included in the to go bag either. We also asked for ketchup and got 4 packets for a bucket of uncooked hash browns.nPoor service, abysmal food.

So normally I don't post reviews but this seemed necessary. Out on a day trip in RI and decided to order food via phonecall for pickup. The lady said about 10 minutes. I showed up and another gentlemen was ordering in front of me at the window. So when he was done I proceeded and told the lady what I ordered and she began to grab my food. Well I had to use the atm inside which is no big deal. The worst part about all of this is the lady came up to me at the atm and said that they didn't have enough clams to do a clam strip and asked if I wanted a half of clam strip which was fine. So I finished with the atm and went to the front window to proceed with my order and she said it wasn't ready and that she will open the window to let me know. So I went back in my car and waited. While waiting in the car the gentlemen who was ordering before me went up to get his food, well 5 mins later he goes back to the window with the bag open and fumbled through saying that it wasn't his food and returned it to them and got his food. The lady never open the window to let me know it was ready so I sat there for another 10 minutes waiting and I finally said screw this and went back to the window to see what was going on. She opened the window and my bag of food was sitting there, she said it came to 34$ and change and I asked her if the guy returned this and she said yes but he never opened it or went through it which was a complete lie because he named off the food that was in the bag when he handed it back to her through the window. So after about 40 minutes of trying to get our food that was suppose to be ready in 10 mins we never got it. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE never attempting to eat at this place again.

My husband and I have never been disappointed in the service or food at the Commons. I had the meatloaf and my husband had the liver and onions. It is his favorite dish here. I felt that today's dinner was better than I remember. Everything from the meatloaf to mashed potatoes and the gravy definitely tasted homemade. I envied the lobster salad the woman at the table next to us had. We remarked how fabulous it looked and she answered that it was absolutely delicious. On our list for next time. Oh and breakfast is always just as good and served all day. If you have room for dessert, their homemade desserts are a must have as well.
