Queen room seems to be a full bed, very small, dirty old carpet. You would think for what you pay for a room they would make some upgrades. Room had 2 flat pillows and when I asked for 2 more they said they could only give me one because they dont have enough for everyone. outside is pretty, porch is nice and screened in. I don't think its worth the money. Historic can still be inviting.
I spend tje summers at lakeside... there have been marginal food options there over the years... honestly this was a great surprise... I will try again!
Oh my word what a wonderful place this is! From the time of booking, to checking in and checking out. Everyone was very professional and personable! The rooms were spotless! We had space to really spread out and enjoy the stay. It was nice in the evening and the early morning to sit on the veranda to look at the views. The restaurant was delicious. Sadly it wasn't open for dinner that sunday night, nor for week days. There were only 2 options for food that we found within Lakeside, so that was difficult being in a hotel to find food. I assume people in cottages/houses probably bring in their own food. But in this world of covid, you kind of just have to roll with things like this. We would love to make this a yearly thing, and hopfully add on some days next year.
It's an absolutely charming hotel built around the turn of the last century. It's a seasonal resort so unfortunately it was closed in Oct. They have a huge screened in wrap around veranda overlooking a fountain & Lake Erie. Lakeside is a beautiful gated community where you'll discover peace & quiet from this insane world! If you want to be transported back in time, this is the place for you!
