Grand Summit Hotel at Attitash

We traveled to the Grand Summit for a mid-week two-day getaway. We were very pleased with the Covid protocols in place and everyone was friendly, especially the woman cooking us breakfast at the Black Diamond Cafe. The cafe and the area outside was set up so you could eat comfortably without feeling like you were violating anyone’s space, which is nice, because eating in public has been one of the things my family has missed over the past 12 months. The pool was fantastic as were the hot tubs. We are especially thankful to the man who opened a conference room for my wife so she could conduct a previously scheduled work call that required privacy and quiet. We spent a lot of money on food, when we could have used the in-suite kitchen, but hey, we were on a getaway. And being midweek during a pandemic meant the two BR suite was quite affordable. The skiing was great too, BTW. No waiting, no crowds and great groomed trails on both Attitash and Bear Peak.

The rooms are big, the murphy bed is okay, but the ski in ski out lodge and the outdoor heated pool is really cool and hard to find!

COVID stay... I'm just putting that out there for reference. We looked everywhere that people from upstate New York would be allowed, and then also be allowed to return home. This place offered an open pool during this stay. This is the only amenity that's open at the moment except for the small in-house grill.nWe were completely unsure of what to expect, but took a little vacation to be away from people. Outdoors activities! There's plenty to do in the area, without really encountering others. This hotel was great to us from the start. The employees are very friendly and accommodating. The pool was fantastic, we were in it every day. Huge heated outdoor pool, you can't go wrong. I'm not sure what the maximum capacity could be in the current environment, but we spent the week with around 20 rooms worth of people, and barely saw other guests. It was a very peaceful getaway.nWhy did I give it a 4? Well the tagline that they use... Straightforward rooms, that's pretty accurate. We definitely had to ask for things that we had requested in advance, (and told they would be in the room) once we arrived. The kitchenware is obliterated and we are the strange people who travel with a child so kind of have to cook on vacation. We had to ask for a couple of new pots and pans, which they did provide us. Just about every piece of kitchenware was non-functional. If they're in poor condition, maybe they should just be replaced. I would also not recommend getting a room with a Murphy bed, or perhaps it was just ours, but it was the noisiest and most uncomfortable bed ever! We had a great stay, but we didn't necessarily have a very good sleep. These are things that have no bearing on the current status of the world, and small improvements could go very long way.nProTip! Check out the little preserve across the street from the hotel entrance! It's great!

We were looking forward to a luxurious get away. Our room was infested with lady bugs. There was a power outage during the night and they didn’t have a generator. To top it off, they didn’t have any safety lights for emergencies. I would have rather spent the weekend at home and saved $500

Amazing staff, everyone is so kind and helpful! We stayed in a suite and it wawas perfect with the kiddos!
