St John's school has been nothing but a great school with a great community and support. It is a place where my kids can be themselves, learn morals and values, be challenged, treat others and be treated with respect, and come out a better person. My kids have loved St Johns and I believe it is a great foundation for your kids education even if you are not Catholic.

Years have passed and I hoped this teacher no longer taught, but I see she still does so I feel the need to speak up. My 5th grade teacher would mock kids' answers to questions in front of the entire class. Her answer to me nearly every time I asked her a question was, 'take time and you'll figure it out yourself.' When I still didn’t know and asked for help, she’d walk away during class in front of my peers- ignoring me, and change the subject. Because of her behavior I stopped asking her questions about anything, but she began to call on me in front of everyone and at times when I didn't know something I'd again ask for help and again she'd ignore me. Shaming is not teaching.nShe stopped having us read from the literature book. When we complained saying we missed it, she said we read directions on worksheets and that was the same thing. She'd then brag to all of us about awards her kids won at a different school they attended. Every day her high school aged daughter would come in with smelly fast food and eat it in front of us IN THE CLASSROOM-EVERY DAY.nMy brother and I transferred to public schools & found teachers who taught students instead of shaming or punishing them when they weren't understanding something, and we excelled. I took honors classes in high school and went on to win scholarships because of my high GPA in college.

I had a lot of fun here when I grew up. Good friends and great teachers helped me when I was down. I wouldn't be the person I am today without this school.

I just love St. John the Baptist parish. I am always welcomed and feel part of the church and the the Catholic faith.
