Porter Creek Hardwood Grill

Firstly, this was our first time visiting this restaurant, one recommended by family who reside in the area. We found the waiting service to be adequate; the server was relatively attentive, the setting quite cleanly, and delivery of our entrees was timely. However, the entree itself was of very inadequate quality compared to its price-point of $34. The vegetables were delivered lukewarm and the carrots in particular were undercooked compared to the rest. We, as former servers in our younger years, thus gently suggest better coordination in meal preparation. The potatoes were flavorful, but that was obviously due to the copious amount of oil such that their flavor greatly unbalanced the meal overall. The quality of the tenderloin -- disappointingly the only steak entree available -- was very unsatisfactory for the price. While cooked close to the degree we requested, the texture was inadequate for the price and the flavor was especially inadequate -- indeed, the meat itself had no flavor of its own. For a restaurant which claims to be a hardwood grill, the tenderloin had no flavor either of us would associate with a hardwood grill. Therefore, I must ask this: do you truly grill your steaks, or marinate them? We understand current circumstances are hard on restaurant businesses so we still gave a very generous tip, but unless our experience is an outlier, we cannot in good conscience recommend your restaurant to our associates for future dining.

Delicious food made from scratch, and the drinks are very good, come on Thursday for $2 off cocktails. Great atmosphere and service. We loved it and will definitely be back.

I love their Happy Hour. Their house wine is fabulous. The food is medicore, so I have a small salad and soup. Which was very good.nnGreat customer service.

11/01/20nTom was our server, great food and service. Walleye and Hanger steak excellent items. Really a great place to eat. Just tell the cooks to wear their masks over their noses too. :)nnI rarely give five stars but everything was perfect. The scallops were excellent, warning the sauce has a bite to it. Wife had the mahi mahi, another excellently cooked meal. Our server was Katie. What a wonderful experience for the meal and service. Katie was on top of everything from our drinks to desert. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Ambiance and flamed cooked rotisserie adds to the dining experience.
